Transferring photos from the Sony t1 (Japanese model). The business end plugs in to the iPod photo. Of course, I had to see what else I could plug it in to- (it charges the Shuffle! and you can make a super cheap DIY version of the Belkin media reader!) it also works with a lot of other devices and now we have some hacks I need to do - here are a ton of photos… The connector also seems to transfer any files in the image directory. I finally got around to using mine and I think for many trips I can leave the computer home and save money on memory cards. The iPod Photo connector is a neat little accessory ($29) you plug in to your iPod photo and to your supported camera which can transfer all the photos off your camera and to the iPod giving you 40/60 Gigs of storage. Ardour for linux2/20/2023 Ardour is a champ in my studio, and I truly hope that Reaper is the same for you in yours. Long experience has also taught me that comparisons like this are more than a little odious and almost always devolve into fanboy flamewars. I'm currently on 2.2, with VST support on my JAD box and 64-bit support on my 64 Studio box. One man's "intuitive" is another man's pain in the ass, and I try to avoid using the term when reviewing software, casually or professionally. I've never had that problem, but again, I think I know the app better than you do (and I'll bet you know Reaper a lot better than I do).Īlas, "intuitive" is one of those buzz-words that's supposed to mean something importantly definite when we're really just saying "I like it and it's easy to use for me". I also find I get very confused trying to make busses and aux fx with ardour, it just doesn't seem very intuitive. While I do like Reaper, I don't find it as useful for my typical recording purposes. Since I know the program well (I've tested and used it from its beginning) I'll politely disagree with your assessment. I always use Ardour for recording straight audio, and if I need MIDI I slave it to an excellent sequencer with either JACK or MTC. It's probably a half-way capable program but it's got nothing on reaper. If there is no other way I may just have to break down and set up this machine as a dual boot, but I hope I can get this. Any idea on how to change this so I can use all 16 at once in reaper? I will use ardour to track if I need to but I love reaper so much I really don't want to switch. I am assuming it will be the same with the phonic mixer. It is recognizing the firepod and uses its inputs and outputs, but reaper itself only allows 2 in 2 out. I have my firepods working with jack and they were working well with ardour, but I can't get reaper to show more than 2 inputs and outputs. I have 2 presonus firepods that I use for I/O, as well as a phonic helix firewire mkII that a bandleader just bought. So, I have reaper running under wine/ wineasio (THANKS WOOT!!!!!!), and though it is a little more sluggish it is not too bad. I'd like to stay away from windows if at all possible. I bought a new laptop this week (a refurbushed ibm t41) that is running ubuntu. Sorry to sort of hijack, but it is somewhat related. One thing is for sure, there's never been a better time to be using these tools. Maybe you should try them both, and draw your own conclusions, based on your own workflow. It's fast, quick, and powerful, and does what is says on the tin, as well as a much deeper layer of tools, and features. I wish them well.īut strictly imho, there's little that touches Reaper out there for the workflow i use. Ardour is onto version 2, and they seemed to be cruising along a pretty busy development period with the advent of vst as a compile option. I use a lot of midi,so common sense dictates i use a programme that has a bigger percentage of midi features. I find Reaper to be outstanding in wine, with no performance degradation at all. Threads like this are usually a bit of a flame trap, but staying objective, each to their own. I've never used Ardour but is there something that Reaper offers a professional that possibly Ardour does not? I've just read a thread on a Linux blog about how great Ardour is and I was curious as to how Reaper compares to Ardour? In particular, why do people go through the troubles of using Reaper under wine as opposed to just running a native Linux application such as Ardour? Secure data recovery services2/20/2023 The company works on hard drives, SSDs, RAID, SAN and NAS network storage, and USB/flash media. It is also listed with the General Services Administration (GSA). If they don’t supply a new drive, DataTech will sell the drive to the customer.ĭataTech Labs is BBB accredited and has an A+ rating, with one complaint in the past three years. Typically, though, DataTech returns the data on a new drive, which customers can provide. The company can return small amounts of data – less than 9GB – through digital transfer. DataTech owns a data destruction company and physically destroys old hard drives. When the server reaches the end of its life, the company wipes the data before disposal. After the data is returned to the owner, it is deleted from the company’s server but is not wiped. This work happens on computers that are not connected to the internet. DataTech doesn’t list any security certifications but says it abides by HIPAA regulations, signs customer nondisclosure agreements and has security protocols. To perform the data recovery, the company gets the data off the device and moves it to a new drive. DataTech’s site says the company has recovery engineers that are Apple-certified Macintosh technicians and Apple-certified iOS technicians. A representative said vendors don’t argue about it. If a device is under warranty, however, the company will reseal the equipment after recovery efforts with a sticker to indicate it was opened in a clean room. DataTech’s advice in such cases is to take those hard drives out of service as quickly as possible, because they are typically set to record over older video, which could put lost video at risk.ĭataTech has certification from Western Digital but not other manufacturers. In addition, the company provides data recovery for DVR and CCTV hard drives. DataTech sends a FedEx label the customer is responsible for boxing and shipping the drive.ĭataTech also handles hard drives, RAID arrays, NAS and SAN network storage, servers, databases, virtual machines, tape drives, phones, CDs, DVDs and floppy disks. There is no charge for an initial examination and estimate for a single hard drive, flash/USB drive or camera card. military and the IRS, but the company does not appear on the current General Services Administration eLibrary contractor list. ACE claims that it’s done work for the U.S. BBB showed no complaints in the past three years. (The original device is included for security, but it cannot safely be used again.) The recovered data remains on ACE’s servers for five business days after receipt of the new drive, after which it’s automatically “zeroed out” and wiped from the server.ĪCE Data Recovery has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB), although is not accredited. Small amounts of recovered data can be delivered digitally, but for more than a few gigabytes, ACE places the recovered data onto a new device and ships that device back with the original one. However, it does mean that there may not be awareness of specifics that healthcare regulations require.ĪCE says it performs data recovery from Windows, macOS, Linux, DOS, some versions of Unix, VMware, Novell networks and others. A lack of a HIPAA certification doesn’t indicate that a recovery firm lacks the necessary security considerations. It does not have a HIPAA certification, which means it might be best to take storage with medical information elsewhere. There was no information about security audits. As an indication of advanced expertise, the company also says it manufactures data recovery equipment.ĪCE’s site says the company has certifications from Western Digital, Dell, HP and Addonics. However, if the hardware is still in good shape and the problem is logical, ACE can attempt remote recovery. Rush service is available at an additional cost.ĪCE doesn’t work on-site at all. Once ACE has the device, the company produces an estimate depending on the problems and condition of the drive. ACE provides free shipping labels for customers to send devices, although RAID arrays, as with all service providers, can require more complex arrangements. ACE says it can recover data from hard drives, solid-state drives (SSDs), storage cards used with cameras and other mobile devices, laptops, desktops, servers, DVDs, CDs, tape drives and RAID arrays. Express burn dvd burning software free2/20/2023 You then get a set of buttons to add files, add folder, edit with WavePad (if installed) and set CD-Text, to help you name the tracks. Selecting your choice, for example Audio CD, you have to confirm the drive you’re going to write to and are advised to add the appropriate media. The program itself consists of a graphic menu bar across the top listing the main options Audio CD, Data CD, Data DVD, Video DVD and Data Blu-ray, as well as copy Disc. Each of these 4 links leads to a step-by-step guide to using the software to create the chosen disc. Once NCH Express Burn Plus is installed you get a help file appear with General usage guidelines on it for creating the 4 main different types of disc (audio for CD player, mp3, data and video). The 4th options (and the only one pre-selected) is NCH Software Internet Browser Toolbar (which as well as adding quick links to NCH software programs also includes a load of other feature you may, or may not, want). These are WavePad Audio Editor (which is a sound editor for modifying audio files), Express Rip CD Ripper (which allows you to rip audio files form a CD), Prism Video File Converter (which as you might expect converts videos file formats from one type to another). There are 4 options, with the first 3 being trials of related software provided by NCH. The install starts with the usual requirement to agree to terms, though then gets more complicated as you’re confronted with a page of Related Programs and Extras. We were keen to see how good this program was individually and how well it performed its core functionality of being able to burn discs. NCH Express Burn Plus is part of a suite of utilities by NCH. For those who are more demanding there are plenty of additional extras available in the suite to satisfy your hunger. If you’re looking for a basic disc burning package then NCH Express Burn Plus won’t let you down. Smart shooter 3 has stopped working2/20/2023 Live View in the software on the PC monitor appears to be working.ĭidn't have to manually remove a Sony remote camera usb device driver. Got TetherTools Smart Shooter 4 to work with Sony A7R iv by uninstalling all Sony Imaging Desktop and viewer software (on Windows 10) and rebooting. Regarding whether Live View works or not, it was interesting that a few days ago their website compatibility chart had an asterik for the A7R iv noting Live View did not work, but currently that is gone and the chart shows checkmark for it working. OK, thanks for the info, will touch base with TetherTools. Not just Smart Shooter but also Capture One will not work with the Sony software installed. They should be able to help you with that. I didn't keep the video on the fix but it has to do with replacing the Sony USB driver with the original one. I do not need live view in my application, simply need to view the image larger than on the back of the camera. Live view did not work last week but it was something they were working on and perhaps they have fixed that. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that mean that the PC monitor will not see the actual image 'as is' prior to taking the photo? I'm using a copy stand with lights and assume Live View would be what should work, otherwise why pay $70 for the software? So, you noted there is a fix to have Tethertools software detect the Sony A7R iv. Interesting, thanks for the info! Yes, I had previously installed Sony Imaging software. As of last week live view did not work on an A7r4 After you do that of course the Sony tethering software will no longer work. If you ask ( and explain the issue) they have a short video that shows you how to fix this. You need to replace the driver that Sony installs with the original one. I spent over a week going over this with their techs. If you have installed the Sony tethering software at any point Smart Shooter will not work as Sony replaces the driver it needs to function. The install guide by tether tools for Smart Shooter 4 doesn't list apply Sony camera menu settings so far as I've looked. Yes, PC Remote On and PC Remote Cnct Method set to USB. Any ideas?ĭo you have "PC Remote" set to "on" in camera settings? The software tech info says the Sony A7R iv works with the software including Live View. Smart Shooter 4 can't detect or find the camera. Camera is cabled with USB-C out of camera to USB-A into the computer. Can't get TetherTools Smart Shooter 4 to recognize the camera A7R iv. Garbage day game demo play facebook2/20/2023 If the share drop holds on Thursday, it would be Facebook’s largest single-day decline, topping a 12 percent decrease in July 2012. The plummeting stock price wiped out as much as $150 billion in market capitalization and erased the stock’s gains since April when Facebook announced a surprisingly strong 63 percent rise in profit and an increase in users. Reuters reports: Operating profit margin, which fell to 44 percent in the second quarter from 47 percent a year ago, will sink to the “mid-30s” for more than two years, Chief Financial Officer David Wehner said in investor guidance. At the time, the drop was expected to result in more than $123 billion in market value. On July 25th, 2018, following their Q2 earnings call, Facebook's stock dropped 17%. As a result, the company and analysts noted that this would slow growth of the company's profits because billions of dollars would be needed in order to meet expected specifications and better secure user information. Stock Crashįollowing several controversies related to the privacy and security Facebook's user accounts, the proliferation of fake news and election meddling, the company refocused its efforts to place privacy ahead of profits. By October 4th, the price had gone down to $21.95 a share and dozens of lawsuits had been filed against both Facebook and NASDAQ due to glitches that occurred on the stock's opening day of trading. Within the first half hour, 200 million shares were traded and that day, the price peaked at $45 a share. On May 18th, 2012, Facebook held their initial public offering, with shares opening at $38. web-based company after Google and Amazon. On September 26th, 2006, Facebook officially opened up registration for anyone older than age of 13 with a valid e-mail address. In September 2005, the site significantly expanded its userbase after opening up registration for high school networks. In 2005, the company dropped "The" from its name after purchasing the domain for $200,000. In June 2004, Facebook moved its base of operations to Palo Alto, California. In July of 2004, the Guardian reported that more than half the undergraduate population at Harvard registered on the service within the first month of launch.įacebook incorporated in the summer of 2004 and appointed Internet entrepreneur Sean Parker, who founded the music sharing website Napster and had been informally advising Zuckerberg, as the company's president. On February 4th, 2004, Zuckerberg launched "Thefacebook" as a social networking site specifically for Harvard University students. To accomplish this project, Zuckerberg compiled photographs from the online profiles of student houses and even reportedly hacked into the secure areas of Harvard's computer network and copied the houses' private dormitory ID images. According to the Harvard Crimson, the site represented a Harvard University version of Hot or Not, an image rating site where visitors can rate user-submitted photos based on their level of attractiveness, by presenting photographs of two students side-by-side and ask the viewer to choose the "hotter" person. The early prototype of Facebook was initially called "Facemash" and it was launched on October 28th, 2003. Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook while he was enrolled at Harvard University with college roommates and fellow computer science students Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. Conquer online private server patches2/20/2023 If only we could go back in time, I would be able to show you non-believers what attracted me to Conquer in the first place. If you don't know who Elim is, please ask some oldies in some servers, I have played almost all new servers, and I do not regret it. Not anymore, I have quit for over a year, and I intend it to stay that way. Prices became imbalanced, and the thrill that came from levelling and killing turned into dust.Ĭonquer WAS a good game. If players were expecting TQ to change their minds and remove this, then they had another thing coming. TQ was already earning hundreds of thousands of dollars in Dragonball sales, making these kinds of special shops seemed typical of TQ to try and suck out more money from their players than anything else. Obviously money isn't really attractive to me. I sold one of my characters that I worked about 2 months on for 500 dragonballs ($1600). We had a very loyal following, until TQ decided to ruin the game.Ĭrediting 100 dragonballs to get customer service ($300+), lottery, exp balls, and just the shop in general proved how greedy TQ really was. On Forums, if you would type my name on search, you would get 34 pages of threads in which my name was mentioned. When TQ started releasing new servers frequently (Once a month or so) we would make at least 40% of experienced players reconsider playing on our server, just because as strongest, we controlled the game, we would kill any competition and prevent people from levelling. Soon I became so strong in the game that people that had never met us actually started becoming apprehensive of us. I started becoming popular, until I led my own gang of friends and that was pretty much our goal. Skipping from server to server, all I did was level, beat other people, and then leave server. My level 65 archer was annihilated by the level 95-100 archers and a few level 70 + trojans, and so I realized I needed to spend no time bullshitting around and level since server start.Īnd so begins this tale of Elim. Needless to say, some of their enthusiasm rubbed off on me, and I tried to spend more time levelling.Ĭonquer is heavily PVP based, Guildwars is extremely fun if played right, and you can have your heart beating extremely fast for over 12 hours in tactics and teamplay. I met a few people that were good at what they did and couldn't wait to show the whole server they were really good at Conquer. In Saphire I made friends with others because as a newbie I was proficient at the noob levelling 'hot spots', and I spent no useless time doing just that, levelling. When a new server came out in Conquer (Saphire) I moved from Phoenix to Saphire (Phoenix already had a few 120 + characters and my account had a measly level 26 trojan). Instead I spent my time talking to people and flirting with girls. I admit, I lacked patience, levelling was a chore in Conquer, you needed to grind as long as you could until you convinced yourself that you are strong. (Needless to say, this was around 4 years ago, and the only MMORPGs I had ever played was a private Ragnarok Server, and a private MU server, both of which annoyed me to death.Īfter I started I found the graphics decent, but the backgrounds very artistically done. I was pvping in a text based RPG game (Called Space Merchant) and after I killed twins, they said that they were busy on a MMORPG called Conquer. I don't know how this post will affect you people, but I will tell you my tale. People call themselves idiots to quit this stupid game and still return, sometime in the future. I understand that many of you guys have ill sentiments towards Conquer, especially because Conquer is just.
